Stromberg after Remodeling
There's only one word to describe the Stromburg Project, and that word is, "Custom". This project, located in the heart of Lexington's Chinoe/Cooper district, lasted roughly one (1) year in length. We began this project by demolishing the majority of the existing home. We added a huge addition to the house with a full size finished basement underneath. Some of the key features of this project are: custom poured concrete basement walls, blown-in loose cellulose insulation, custom hardwood floors, laundry chutes, full-masonry chimney, state-of-the-art wiring, computer labs, exquisite custom trim carpentry, bead-board attic wall system, media room, his/her bath rooms, new plumbing, H.V.A.C., electric, and gas lines, new septic/drain system, custom exterior brick masonry, energy efficient windows and doors, dimensional shingles, faux antique beam work, custom appliances, remarkable style pocket doors, and the list goes on and on. Needless to say, the clients are extremely happy with the results. Estimated project value is around $900,000.00 All design work was performed by Lynn Pedigo of "Pedigo Design Group". A standing ovation goes out to the team at Pedigo Design for their hard work and dedication toward the completion of this project. Below, you will see a few pictures that we hope will give you some insight to the extent of this project. This project involved remodeling the main bathroom, the hallway, and the remainder of the home's plumbing. We began the project with only the bathroom in mind. However, by the time we were finished we ended up moving out into the hallway and even replacing the entire home plumbing system. The bathroom was gutted down to the original studs. The bathroom was in such bad shape even a few of the studs had to be replaced. We updated all of the framing, all of the flooring (down to the floor joist), all electrical wiring, and all plumbing/plumbing fixtures. The primary objective of the homeowner was to update the look and the feel of the room. She went with all nickel plated furnishings and bone color fixtures. A new closet was installed for space and storage. Also, per request of the homeowner, we even framed in-sets in the wall custom designed to house toothbrushes, plungers, and even toilet cleaning brushes and accesories. It was an excellent idea for maximizing space. What was a normal old bathroom turned out to be an updated and rather contemporary addition to the home. In the hallway we removed and replaced all the doors and their accompanying hardware. The handles and hinges were all converted to nickel finish to stay with the same profile that the new bathroom now had. Something as simple as updating four doors dramatically changed the whole look of that section of the home. Once we tore all of the material out of the bathroom, we noticed that the shape of the home's plumbing system was in horrible shape. We suggested that the homeowner have all of the plumbing updated. She went for it. We converted all of the water supply lines over to "Pex", which is the latest addition to the family of plastic water supply piping. All drain and vent lines were also updated. So what originally was a simple bathroom remodel, ended up evolving into a whole home update. But, to say the least, everything turned out looking excellent.

The Upper Street Project
Lexington Kentucky

This is another "whole house renovation" project that was completed earlier this year. As with the Stromburg Project, an immense amount of time and effort went into this job. Everything from the floors, windows, walls, doors, the overall design, everything, was updated. The entire house was re-painted (inside and out). A new deck was added to the rear entrance of the home. Some of the more luxurious amenities included in this project were: custom floor/shower/wall tile, steam units in the bathroom, luxury garden/whirlpool tubs, custom kitchen countertops, and much more. Everyone seems to be surprised at the misleading size of the home. From the outside, the home does not appear to be that big. However, when you get inside the home, it just keeps on going. The immense height of the structure is what gives the home so much space. Check out the slide show below and you will get a good idea as to the extent of this project !
